Best Time To Ski?

Posted in Travel & Leisure on August 4th, 2010 by admin – Be the first to comment

Early Season / Christmas Eve – If snowcover is, it will be a great time to go skiing trails, but head on tree-lined resort, and not those rocky, that is, if you do not want your skis shred into pieces ! (I learned this the hard way in a Meribel!) You will find fantastic value chalet holidays in the early stages and if early snow grace us again, as they did in the past two years (I skiied on November 14 in Saint-Gervais this is 2009! ), then go for it. Track will be quiet and so will the resort.

School holidays – Christmas, New Year, February half term, Easter – Avoid them if you can! This week is ALWAYS busy. especially if an early snow season is good. But for those who can only leave the school holidays, you better go to somewhere with a large area, but the smaller profile. Duel “Three Valleys or Espace Killy”, and you can not breathe. Look further and head four valleys in Switzerland, Espace Diamant, or evasion of Mont Blanc. Oddly enough, if you really appreciate the blank lines, Christmas Day and New Year’s Day is often empty, so to drag yourself out of your chalet and enjoy the trails for yourself.

January – It will be cold, with lots of snow and a lot of space. Last January 2 have seen loads of snow, but the low line, which makes it more times in the head, if you can hack the cold part of the season. With the cold snow, keeping perfect, January is ideal for those who like to ski hard all day every day. There will always be a cheap week will be at the last minute in January to take a cheap holiday chalets. It’s really not the time to go skiing sun and long lunches, though, in fact later!

February – Eliminating the English half term in February should be a long month of skiing, and undoubtedly will be a lot cheaper a week on offer, but keep in mind … European half of the semester, covering more than a month, and could lead to a busy road on any given day. The best way to avoid them go to less well-known resorts, or resorts, which seem harder to get, and will put less attract local tourists skiers for day / weekend.
